Day 2 of the 12 days of Halloween

Simply Betty Stamps

Happy Tuesday,    well the geek didn't fix my frig.   He said,   "he didn't know how?"  I said,  "why do they not train you on the new machines or send me someone that is experienced.  I don't have infinite days off to spend on fixing my new frig that isn't even a month old. "   He said,  "We can come on Saturday."  WHAT?   Do you really think I want to waste my weekend?  Yeah right.    Well,   he said he needed to call is supervisor.   I told him to tell his supervisor that I am very IRRITATES by this.  He advised me to call customer service.   By this time I was super mad.   I just wanted him out of my house.  Really   just call customer service.    Do you really want that?  I don't think so because I will tell them how incompetent you are.    UGH!   Well long story short, he calls back and says that they can come out on Tuesday.    I told him that it was fine but it will be on my time because I am not wasting another vacation day.   I pray that my frig will be fixed today.     It's a big inconvenience because I won't be able to cook  (really not that sad.  LOL) and I have my sons soccer practice.  Hopefully they will be done by 5:30.

Anyways,  today is the second day of the 12 days of Halloween at Simply Betty Stamps.   Today's challenge is 2 Trick or Treaters.   For my example I use the Halloween Emos.  Mummy Lola and Franken Miller.   They are available is clear stamps HERE. I used Jen's sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch.  The paper is Happy Halloween by Echo Park Paper.    The ribbon is from Wal-mart and the purple bling is from the Michael's dollar bin.   On a happy note,  I'm getting a Hobby Lobby!    I am so EXCITED!   Hubby not so much,  LOL.

Nightmare Before Christmas!

Photobucket
YAY,  today is Friday and I'm off.   Although it's not for fun.  It's because my new frig of two weeks won't make ice.   Really?   It's aggravating when you buy something new and it's broken as soon as you get it.   I researched the problem and I found out it was an on going problem.    If the company knew about the problem. Why didn't they fix it?   The quality and craftsmanship has gone out the window.    Anyways, I hope the GEEK comes early and finishes in a timely manner but I don't think it's going to happen because he told me he has never worked on this model before.    YAY,   I'm the guinea pig.    I hope he doesn't break it.   (It's his second time out.)   Pray for me and Lord give me strength to have patience with this GEEK.

Happy Friday

Photobucket

YAY!  Today is Friday and I have a four day weekend.   WAHOO!  Although, I have nothing planned. I am looking forward to sleeping in. You know I value my sleep.   After this weekend my life is going to change BIG time.   My husband is switching positions.  14 of our 15 years of marriage, he has worked swing shift.  I don't even know what a normal 9-5 job is like with him. It's going to be weird and it will take time to adjust but it will be great for our family.  The kids are excited because we really didn't see him until Friday after 3p.m.  I felt like a single mom.  Well, my single mom days are over.

Today I would like to remind my crafty friends that fussy and fancy is having a sketch challenge that runs until September 8.   There are a few entries which means that it's a better chance to win the prize.  Our sponsor is  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. One lucky participant is going to win 3 digi stamps of their choice.

The card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2".  I used Echo Park's Little Boy  paper. The card stock used was Bazzill and Stampin Up. The 3 star brads I used are from Oriental Trading Co.

Back to School!

Photobucket

I'm sure everyone is sad that summer is over or almost over.   My children started school August 3rd.  Yes you read right, August 3.    I know it's early.    I wasn't ready. They weren't ready but what are we going to do.   What I'm doing is getting ready for teacher gifts.   You can't have enough of them.   Especially, when you have several children is school.   Today I will be previewing the new Back to School line from  Simply Betty Stamps.   I think they are super cute and are totally out of the box.

This is mad scientist Christian

The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The card stock is Bazzill and Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from Inspired Stamps.   I love it.   I want to use it for everything.   I'm not though.   The paper is Echo Park.  The line is Playground.   I got it from  Simply Betty Stamps.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.    Don't forget to check out the other design team members' creations HERE

Happy Monday or not?

Photobucket

Happy Monday.  Well is any Monday happy?  Hahaha.   I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.   This weekend my daughter started on her first commission.   She is painting a Super Mario Bros. mural in her Godmother's laundry room.   She is so excited.  The outline is finished and next week the painting begins.   I will keep you updated and pictures will be posted.

Well speaking of artsy girls.   Simply Betty Stamps has a new line of Back to School Teen Scene stamps and Artist London reminds me of my daughter Jennica.   She loves to draw dragons and she has a passion for sweets.   Cupcakes and ice cream are her weakness.  I had to make something with this image.

Isn't she cute?!   Totally my Jennica.    Her hair is even wavy but she hates it.   LOL!  I actually made a HUGE card.   It measures 5X8.   I have no idea where I will get an envelope to fit this card.   Maybe I can get one from the store.   Just kidding.  I used Echo Park Summer time paper and stickers. The colored card stock is bazzill and the white card stock is Georgia Pacific.   The bling on the ice cream cone was from the dollar bin at Michael's. Overall,  I really like the way this card came out and it's a perfect representation of my Jennica. Don't forget to check out the what the other design team members created. HERE

Let's Get Sketchy

Photobucket

Happy Friday everyone!
I am happy it's Friday but today is going to be a scorcher.  Overall, we had a mild summer but now it's here and in full force.  Anyways,  I hope it ends soon because I'm ready for Fall.  Although,  I'm not ready for the time change and shorter nights.   Well,  we can't have everything.  LOL!

Today at Simply Betty Challenges This week's challenge is  Getting Sketchy with it:  pick any sketch from any sketch challenge and combine it with one of her images (or any other company's image,  but she does love to see SBS images being used)!  Here is my example of the challenge. The sketch I used was from Deconstructed Sketches.  I used the new Teen Scene Halloween line: Mummy Lola.  The sentiment is from Stampinsanity's Simply Supernatural set.

The card measures a little under 6".  I used Echo Park Paper Trick or Treat.  I found it at  Keep it simple scrapbooks for $.63 a sheet.  Bargain HUH?   The card stock is Stampin Up and Bazzill.   I think I am loving Bazzill paper now.    I am no longer a Stampin Up card stock snob.   hahaha!  On that note,  I hope everyone as a wonderful weekend and I am ready to sleep in because I love my sleep.

Happy Anniversary Addams Style!

Photobucket

OMG,   two posts in a row.   I know it's crazy but I really would like to get back to posting regularly.   Darn Facebook. Yes let's use that as an excuse.   Anyways,   today is the second preview day of Simply Betty's new Teen Scene Halloween line.    This is the Addams couple.

The card measures 5 1/2 x 51/2.  I used the retired Stampin Up paper Rockabilly.   I love this paper I wish I could get my hot little hands on some more of this stuff. (Wishful thinking I know.) I used Peach spica marker on their hair which is hard to photograph but I think you can see it somewhat.  Last but not least, the sentiment is from Stampinsanity Simply Super natural set.

Overall,  I like the way the card turned out and I will be using it for my in-laws anniversary.    They will be married for 39 years on the 26 of this month.   Wow, that is crazy to be with someone for that long.    These days couples can't stay together for 39 days.   LOL!   I can't even image spending 39 years with my hubby.   Hahahaha

Anyways,

A New Preview for Simply Betty Stamps

Photobucket

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't been around lately. I think I'm kind of burnt out. I'm slowly getting my crafty groove back. Today I will be showcasing the new Teen Scene Halloween image Evil Queen Rio from Simply Betty Stamps. Although, I don't think she looks evil at all. She looks super cute. She reminds me of my Jennica when she was little and loved to wear frilly dresses. She loved the princesses and especially Minnie Mouse. Anyways, I better stop. I created this card for the Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge. Use at least 3 embellishments. Our sponsors this week are Digi's With Attitude! and Inspired Stamps Inspired Stamps was generous enough to give our design team a stamp to play with. I choose a sentiment "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13. I love this scripture. It helps me in hard times and it's inspirational. I thought it would go perfect with this image because it looks like she's dreaming to be a princess.

The card measures 5 1/2 x 5 1/2. The card stock is bazzill and Stampin Up. I use Echo Park Paper from the Little Girl line. Although, you can't see it at all. The ribbon is Stampin Up and the sketch is from Deconstructing Sketches.   I hope I didn't leave anything out. If I did forgive me. Don't forget to check out the other Simply Betty girls to see their wonderful creations and stay tuned for more previews tomorrow.

The Sketchy Steampunk

Photobucket

So anyone wonder what a steampunk is?  Well I did.   I googled it and now I'm fascinated.

Wikipedia said,

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fictionalternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s.[1] Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually the Victorian era Britain—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology or futuristic innovations as Victorians may have envisioned them; based on a Victorian perspective on fashionculturearchitectural styleart, etc. This technology may include such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.
Other examples of steampunk contain alternative history-style presentations of such technology as lighter-than-air airshipsanalog computers, or such digital mechanical computers as Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace's Analytical engine.
Steampunk is sometimes compared to cyberpunk, although apart from the shared origins of the name, they have almost nothing in common. Their time period and level of technology are different and steampunk settings also tend to be less dystopian.[citation needed]
Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk.

Interesting right?

Anyways,   here is my steampunk inspired card.

I just love Steampunk Rio from Simply Betty Stamps.
I wish there were more but we won't get into that.

Challenges:
About the card:
  • Card measures at 5 1/4 X 5 1/4:  black polka dot paper 5X5, the wider rectangle (card stock 2 1/4 X 4 1/4, DSP is 2 X 4),  the narrow rectangles (card stock 1 X 4 1/4, DSP 3/4 X 4 1/4)
  • I used Echo Park Paper For the Record kit (includes the stickers I used).   I think it has a great retro feel that is prefect for the steampunk inspiration.
  • I used my nesties to cut the ovals and for everything else I used my Tonic Paper cutter.
Materials:
  • As usually everything came from Simply Betty Stamps:  Paper, stickers and Steam Punk image.
